If you are a black Friday shopper you may want to look for a little gift for our class gift exchange for our Christmas Party on Dec. 19th.  Girl’s buy a girl gift; Boy’s buy a boy gift. $5-7 gifts are totally acceptable.  If you have any problems with this please let me know so I can get my elves working on it.

Busy Bee Binders

The kiddo’s Busy Bee Binders are just about all set to come home this week.  Remember this is not meant to be homework, but just some extra at home ideas you can work on together at home.  When it does come home, please return it daily.  Once we get good and returning it daily, I will be adding reading folders to go home too about 2-3 times a week.  Thank you for always practicing with your kiddos, their progress is showing.

Splash Math

We have started Splash Math this year on our iPad.  I would like to give you the opportunity to have access at home too.  It will boost fluency via regular math facts practice at home and involve you in your students’ learning with shared reports.

I’m sending home today your access/username codes for your student to start doing at home.  Let me know if you lose it or need help logging in.

Please remember to dress your kiddos for the weather.  It’s a good idea this time of year to always have hats, gloves, an extra sweatshirt, and extra socks in their backpacks.  Warm winter coats are needed when the temperature is below 40 degrees.  Once there is snow on the playground they will need snow boots and snow pants to play out in the snow, otherwise they may have to stand by the wall or on the pavement.  Please remember to put their names on everything!
Please also practice letting your sons and daughters get themselves ready to go outside.  They need to be able to put on their snow pants, boots, coats, hats, and gloves all by themselves by January.  I will help and teach them to be as independent as they can be.  So please start practicing now.
In celebration of Friendship and Thanksgiving, we will be making and sharing Stone Soup together the week of Thanksgiving.  As in the story of Stone Soup, everyone will bring in an item to contribute to our soup and then work together to create a delicious meal.  On Monday, Nov. 25th, we will be trading amongst the Kindergarten classes to obtain all of the ingredients we need for our soup.  We will peel and cut up all of the vegetables on Tuesday, Nov. 26th, in the afternoon and then eat our soup together on Wednesday, November 27th at our Feast.

Our class needs to bring in potatoes to trade with the other classes. Each student needs to bring in one potato by Friday, November the 22nd.  If you signed up during conferences to bring in items for our feast day, I also will need those items by Monday, the 25th.  I will send out individual reminders to remind you what you signed up for.

If you would still like to come in and help out with our Kindergarten thanksgiving activities rotations.

I could still use 2 more volunteers on Monday morning Nov. 25th from 8:20-11 am.

I could use 2 volunteers on the morning of Tuesday the 26th, to help cut up veggies with the kiddos.

I could use 2 more volunteers Wednesday, Nov. 27th serving our feast and helping with clean-up from 12:30-2.

If you are interested or free please email or text me so I can see how many parent volunteers we have.

Thank you always for all your assistance!
