Please turn in your child’s All about me bags sometime this week or early next week.  We will be doing a lot of name games and getting to know one another the next two weeks.

Gingerbread Day

We will be having our special gingerbread day this upcoming Thursday.  Please have your kinder wear their new Kindergarten tee shirt they received on the first day of school.  We will be baking a Gingerbread man and when we go and find him, to our surprise he will be missing.  We will be going on a school wide hunt looking for our Gingerbread Man.  This is a good way to remind ourselves of our school wide expectations and rules as we go into different rooms throughout the school.
When we return to our room, we will find that he has returned to our room.  We will be enjoying our Gingerbread Man with milk and cookies for our snack then.  Please don’t tell your student what is going to happen, let them tell you afterschool.

Picture Day Sept. 10th
You can send in your child’s picture day envelope and money any time from now until picture day.  I will hold onto it until that day.

Daily Folders

We will be staring to send home daily folders every day until we get our Busy Bee Binders up and going.  Most days we send home the papers we worked on that day in class.  Mondays will have all of our main notes from me and from the office.  Please return the folders daily!  Thank you!

Special Classes

We had our first gym class today, ask your little all about it.  We will have Music class tomorrow and Gym again on Wednesday.  We will not be going to Library until the week after Labor Day.  We will start Show-n-Tell also the following week, not this week as we do not have class this Friday.

So Far So Good
I am very pleased so far with our class’ attention, kindness, and participation.  They did very well last week and I’m very encouraged that we will have an outstanding group of kiddos this year!

Please remind your child to wait patiently, as it is so hard for them to understand that I cannot call on them all of the time and please remind them to wait their turn to talk.  They all have so much to tell me and the class, that they all blurt out, so we will be working hard this week to learn to raise their hand to speak, wait patiently, and listen to others.

We will be drawing tickets for prizes at the end of this week for earning “Feel the Wheel” tickets!  The kids are so excited to be caught doing something right and kind for others.  Hopefully they told you over the weekend, what a Bucket Filler is.  They all seemed to really enjoy that story!
