Friday
Online RAZ kids
We have started our
reading online RAZ kids program this week.
The students have been taught how to use it during this week class. I have sent home information last week so you
can help them login at home and read at home.
If you missed placed it, please email me and I’ll send it right out to
you. It is a leveled reading program
that will help them increase their reading skills. Our
rule is to listen to the story twice, read it twice, and then take a test on
it.
Testing Week
We
are making up our reading portion of our test on Wed. first thing in the morning,
so please be on time and ready to go.
Other make-ups will take place on Thursday and Friday.
Morning Recess
If
your child gets to school prior to 7:55, please send them to school in their
snow plants and snow clothes on. The
children go outside for a morning recess between 7:40-7:55, too many kiddos are
showing up with no snow clothes on and are heading outside not adequately
dressed for the weather. Please be aware
of the weather and send them with hats, gloves, or even extra in their
backpacks.
Still looking for parent volunteers to help
our kiddos be engineers. We will be
making slides with barriers for our final science project for Forces and
Motion. I’m hoping to have 2-3 parents
over a couple days help each student plan and make one. Starting hopefully this week, Wed. 23 – Fri.
25th. If you’re interested or
free please contact me so we can arrange a time and details. Thank you!
100th Day of School
As of today, our 100th
day would fall on Thurs. Jan. 31st.
That is always subject to change if we get any more snow days. We usually have a very fun day on the 100th
day. I ask that the kiddos try and dress
up as if they are 100 years old and bring in 100 items of something in a zip
lock bag or Tupperware container. Ideas
are Legos, buttons, cereal, marshmallows, etc.
They can bring in their 100 items on that day too.
Valentine’s Day &
Jump Rope for Heart
Day
We
will be having a party for part of that day Thursday, Feb. 14th, and
the other part we will be going to the gym and participating in a variety of
activities/stations Mrs. Sluiter has organized for us.
We
had a fundraising kickoff for Jump Rope for Heart this past week, flyers were sent
home last week. Please return Donation Form
on Feb. 8th. Mrs. Sluiter may
need volunteers that day and I would like 2-3 for our Valentine’s Day
party. Please contact me if you are
interested in helping out with either.
Parents are welcome to come and watch the Jump Rope for Heart activities. I will let everyone know the schedule just as
soon as I know.
Every
child is to bring, one Valentine for each classmate. I have attached our class list for the kiddos
to get a head start on making them, especially if we get any more snow
days. It would be a good activity for
them to work on.
