October starts our Book-It – Pizza Hut reading challenge that runs through March.

Your child will receive a free Pizza Hut certificate for a personal pan pizza, for reading approximately 20 minutes a night during the month of October.  Please just color in each day you read together and return it to school at the end of each month to receive a certificate.  Remember you and your child should be reading together for about 20 minutes every night.

Fall Leaves

We will be continuing a unit on our five
senses learning all about the fall and leaves. Please go on a leaf hunt with your child and collect some leaves. We will be making leaf men, animals, and critters in class out of real leaves, twigs, and acorns.  If you and your child could please collect leaves from all different kinds of trees and all different colors to bring into school for our project that would be wonderful.  I ask that the leaves are somewhat flat (place in a book to flatten) and not too crumpled up and only bring in about 12 leaves in a labeled zip lock bag.  You can bring them in within the next two weeks.  Thank you for your help on this project.

Book Fair Volunteers

Sherry Brinks is looking for some parent volunteers willing to help out with the Book Fair, Oct. 22-31st Please contact Mrs. Brinks at sherry.brinks@mcbain.org if you are willing to help out with this.

We will be going to view books on Thursday, Oct. 26th and making out a wish list.  Those will go home that night and the next day we will go back and make purchases on Friday, Oct. 27th.

Busy Bee Binder’s coming home very soon.  Be on the lookout for them and have your kiddo show you how they can use them at home.  Not meant as homework but just for extra practice here and there.

Parent Volunteers for our Halloween party needed.
I would love to have about 3-5 parents volunteer to help out during our Halloween party.  If you are interested please shoot me an email and we can get things all lined up.

If you ever wish to volunteer within the classroom, we would love to have you and I’ll most certainly put you to work.  Just email me and we can work out days and times.

Thank you, parents for investing your time and energy into your little one’s lives  & academics!
